RODRIGO OLIVAR
Rodrigo Olivar is a director/editor hailing from CDMX, currently based in Brooklyn, New York. His body of work delves into and celebrates multicultural narratives by intimately engaging with real people and their stories. His aim is to provide a distinctively human and fresh perspective, presenting them in a visually captivating manner. Rodrigo holds a BFA in Audiovisual Media from Universidad Iberoamericana and an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts, NY, specializing in Motion Graphics. For over 8 years, he served as Head of Video at Re-mezcla, the largest US Latin digital publisher and lifestyle agency, where he steered the direction and production of over 150 projects, encompassing branded content, TVCs, and live music shows.
He has collaborated with brands such as Toyota, Pepsi, McDonald’s, Jack Daniel’s, Target, and MLB, among others. Some of his notable works have garnered recognition through awards and nominations, including the We-bby’s, ANA’s, Shorty’s, Clio’s, and more.
His films have been shown in film festivals such as New Orleans, NYLFF, Morelia, and others. His latest project, “Thank You, Have a Nice Day,” recently won the MAX Latino Short Film Competition and is currently being show-cased on MAX.
